For an existing, or an upcoming private physiotherapy practitioner, non-clinical skills are a must-to-have.

Estimate your current potentials for the same, by taking this quick 8-questions quiz:

1. Number of years in job, before starting your private practice: 2 to 5 years
5 to 15 years
Less than 2 years
2. You precisely envisioned the purpose of your private practice, well before planning for it? Yes, I’m focussed on physically rehabilitating a specific population, having specific range of problems.
Focussing on treating one to a few categories of problems only sounds good theoretically, but at the end, you have treat any kind of case which walks-in.
Private practice must be started as and when the time feels right. My confidence for the same stems from my strong social and lead referral network.
3. You know exactly how much it costs you, to deliver one session of physiotherapy appointment at your clinic, at any client’s home, or online. I understand, but I haven’t ever calculated it as such.
I did a calculation and it seems to be working fine with me.
I believe in charging an amount, which balances local clients’ paying tendencies and my standards of service.
4. You are always keen to quickly learn those clinical skills, which your network physiotherapists start learning fast too, as a trend. Yes. Why to loose the advantage of getting new clients for trendy physiotherapy skills?
Yes, but I learn only those skills, which I feel are useful to refine my approach of doing physiotherapy.
No, I believe my old school skills are strong enough, to produce required therapeutic results.
5. The number of referred leads to you from doctors and lead providing websites is great enough, to keep-up your practice. Yes, that actually is my confidence, for starting my practice.
Yes, but I also have my own direct base of clients
No. My business thrives and grows only on my directly generated leads in the market.
6. You have a dedicated marketing budget and schedule? I have money and enough running clientage. So I can market as and when necessary only.
Enough workload doesn’t create a need for any major marketing effort, I believe. My reputation alone must get me the clients.
Yes, advertising locally or on the internet 2 to 5 times every month, appears a good strategy to me.
7. You strongly believe that clients must not negotiate, because you are offering best standards of physiotherapy services. Yes, I never wish to dilute the value of my confident clinical skills, in front of them.
Practically, I do have to engage with my clients for negotiations, but I also strongly believe that it is not right for them to negotiate with me.
I do not wish to engage, but keep learning new tactics of doing so, in the favour of my physiotherapy practice.
8. When is the right time to ask clients to put a feedback on your services, specially, on the internet? Immediately after consultation, if they do not sign-up for the program.
Once they finish the required number of therapeutic sessions.
Not immediately after consultation, but in between 3rd to 5th therapy session, so that we do not loose their feedback, in case they pre-maturely drop-out of their therapeutic program.
