
“WHY do you charge this much?”
As a physiotherapist, does this question unleash a storm in your heart, every time it is asked directly or indirectly, by an enquiring client?
How you’ve evolved to answer this over a period of time, seeds the possibilities of you appearing as an arrogant, or as a professional physiotherapist to your market.
An answer, made from an insecure, biased or prejudiced point of view, will very likely portray a less considerate image. This may include phrases, like:
“..because, i give quality and accountable services, much better than anyone else..”
“…because, i have to cover my costs and need to save some money, too…”
“…i don’t care what others are charging. These are my charges…”
“…because it’s otherwise difficult to differentiate myself from other, less efficient physios or quacks in the market…”
“…clients pay here, because my work is known for achieving good results…”
So, what is missing in the above kinds of replies?
They contain only the concerned physiotherapist’s side of the story and absolutely miss to include the concerned client’s legitimate needs and choices to recover with the help of a physiotherapy program.
