12.1.25: How to refer a physio client to an orthotist correctly

Wrong way:
“Sir, you need to have a customized insole for your foot.”

Correct way:
“Sir, we need to stabilize your foot on the ground better, to achieve further results with my therapeutic exercise designs now.”

Wrong way:
“I’ll mention the product required and the orthotist will make one for you.”

Correct way:
“Please let your orthotist call me once he finishes your assessment. We will then match our own conclusions with each other and get the right device designed for your foot.”

Referrals to an orthotist, made in the right way, help to achieve success with therapeutic designs and retain clients in a private physiotherapy practice.
