I’ve decided to quit.
I turned down a home physiotherapy service enquiry, about two weeks back, since the client confirmed that moving out of the house or coming to the clinic is not a problem, but remarked,
“Isn’t it that you guys only keep advertising here and there that avail physiotherapy at the comfort of your home. Now that I’m asking for it, you’re saying that come to the clinic. No worries, I’ll ask someone else.”
That was the moment, when I decided to quit my decision, to not let my venture enter into the commercial home physiotherapy space.
Why?
Because I instantly realized, “at the convenience of your home” message has damaged the dignity of our profession in India, the most, over a period of time.
Not only has it deteriorated the respect for the clinical prowess of home visiting physiotherapists, but it has also made physio clinics loose businesses to “investor-backed free assessment and free trial session at home” rush model of corporates and to the erred “this exercise for this many minutes is not worth more than this much and so no specialist is needed for it” understanding of clients, which ultimately makes them to fall into the hands of quacks, who mostly visit them during undetectable hours of the day.
Therefore, Start Exercises Physiotherapy Services, New Delhi, is coming up with an indiawide home physiotherapy vertical, for patients having appropriate clinical and situational indications only.
For all other indications, it would be a refusal of service at our end.
The online screening of licensed physiotherapists, across various pincodes in India, will begin on sat, 11th of October 2025 onwards.
Interested physiotherapists can join any of our following update sites as per convenience, to access the application form and other details, which will be updated in a few days’ time.
